Alethea

Alethea is a Washington, D.C.-based company founded in 2019 that specializes in detecting and mitigating information manipulation, coordinated influence operations, and digital deception. The company's core product is Artemis, an AI-powered risk management platform that monitors online environments to identify and contextualize emerging narrative threats before they escalate.

Artemis is designed to help organizations detect coordinated inauthentic behavior, disinformation campaigns, social media manipulation, and AI-generated influence operations across digital platforms. In early 2026, Alethea enhanced the platform with an agentic AI-powered mitigation suite, expanding its capabilities from threat intelligence to active response.

Alethea serves a broad range of clients, including corporations, investors, and institutions that face reputational, financial, or operational risks from online manipulation. The company has documented real-world cases involving stock manipulation via coordinated Twitter activity, AI-driven bot networks, foreign election interference operations (attributed to Russia, China, and Iran), and health misinformation campaigns on platforms such as TikTok.

The company also functions as a research and thought leadership organization, with its findings frequently cited by major media outlets including Bloomberg, Reuters, The New York Times, NBC News, Politico, and Axios. Alethea's research spans influence operations targeting elections, financial markets, sports communities, and public health narratives.
