Talanos Vulnerability Management is a managed service that provides vulnerability management, detection, and response capabilities. The service is built on the Qualys VMDR platform and includes support for internal and external vulnerability scanning, dynamic application security testing (DAST), attack surface management, and compliance monitoring. The service includes automated asset discovery and inventory across hybrid environments, including on-premises devices, applications, mobile endpoints, cloud infrastructure, containers, OT, and IoT systems. The platform detects software vulnerabilities, architectural flaws, and misconfigurations. Talanos provides a 24/7 team of analysts who work through vulnerability data to quantify risk, allocate remediation tasks, and track progress. The service integrates with customer IT teams to manage the vulnerability lifecycle, moving beyond simple report generation to active risk management. The platform includes specific capabilities for PCI DSS 4.0 compliance, with features addressing multiple requirements including vulnerability management, patch management, policy compliance, web application scanning, file integrity monitoring, and asset management. Qualys is an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) for PCI DSS external scanning requirements. The service operates on a multi-tenant MSSP license model where customer data is logically separated. Customers can also opt to use their own licenses while having Talanos manage and operate the platform on their behalf.
