## What is Resec?

Resec is a gateway security solution that uses Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) technology to prevent known and unknown threats from entering organizations through file attachments. The platform processes files at the gateway level, creating threat-free replicas that maintain native format and functionality.

The solution supports hundreds of file types including Microsoft Office suite and PDFs. It handles password-protected and multi-layered encrypted files, as well as extra-large files and digitally signed documents. The platform processes most files in seconds while maintaining document fidelity.

Resec operates as an add-on to email platforms like Exchange, Office 365, and Gmail, providing advanced threat protection beyond basic spam and phishing defenses. The solution analyzes all embedded objects within attachments to ensure prohibited content is blocked even when embedded in permitted file types.

The platform uses a zero trust prevention approach with no false negatives. It includes granular policy controls that allow organizations to configure security settings according to business requirements. The architecture is designed to handle enterprise-scale traffic with no single point of failure and the ability to withstand hardware failures.
