Prowler is an open source security assessment tool designed for multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Kubernetes.

The tool performs security best practices assessments, audits, incident response activities, continuous monitoring, hardening evaluations, and forensics readiness checks across cloud infrastructures.

Prowler includes hundreds of security controls that align with multiple compliance frameworks and standards including CIS benchmarks, NIST 800 series, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CISA guidelines, RBI standards, FedRAMP requirements, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, FFIEC, SOC2, GXP, AWS Well-Architected Framework Security Pillar, AWS Foundational Technical Review, and ENS (Spanish National Security Scheme).

The tool supports custom security frameworks and provides remediation guidance for identified security issues.

For AWS environments, Prowler covers 304 checks across 61 services with support for 28 compliance frameworks and 6 security categories. For Google Cloud Platform, it includes 75 checks covering 11 services with 1 compliance framework and 2 categories.
