Red Button then designs and executes customized attack simulations that replicate hacker tactics, generating large multi-gigabit traffic volumes from multiple global sources using the latest attack techniques derived from real-world incident response experience. Testing covers a range of DDoS attack types tailored to stress the specific weaknesses of the client's architecture. Because Red Button holds authorized DDoS Test Partner status with both AWS and Azure, tests on those platforms can be conducted without additional provider notifications up to defined traffic thresholds. After testing, clients receive a detailed report listing all defense vulnerabilities prioritized by severity, along with actionable remediation recommendations. A follow-up conference call reviews findings, and retests are available to verify that identified gaps have been closed. Expert assistance is also provided for configuration and architecture changes. The service is vendor-agnostic, meaning recommendations are tailored to the specific tools and technologies in the client's environment. Red Button uses the DDoS Resiliency Score (DRS), an open industry standard, to objectively rate a client's protection posture. The total time commitment required from the client is approximately five hours: one hour for the pre-test interview, three hours for the test session, and one hour for results review.
