Hypori Army BYOD Description

Hypori Army BYOD is a virtual mobile infrastructure (VMI) solution that enables U.S. Army personnel to securely access government networks and applications from personal mobile devices, without storing any government data on the device. The solution works by streaming a virtual workspace to the user's personal phone via the Hypori app, keeping all data and processing server-side. No Army data is downloaded or stored on the personal device, which eliminates the risk of data loss or leakage from lost or stolen phones. The Army has no ability to access, monitor, or remotely wipe the user's personal device. Eligible users include active military, Guard, Reserve, Civilian, and Contractor personnel with an @army.mil account. The solution is approved for use at home and OCONUS locations, and does not require a physical CAC card to log in once enrolled. Enrollment requires access to a NIPRNet computer or AVD, and involves downloading the MobileConnect and Hypori apps, registering via Purebred for PKI credentials, and configuring Outlook email. Upon successful enrollment, users receive a BYOD.P12 certificate. Within the virtual workspace, users can access NIPRNet, Army 365 email, Microsoft Teams, MDS, IPPS-A, and CAC-enabled websites. The built-in Chrome browser supports both NIPRNet and internet browsing with preconfigured government bookmarks. Users can send, receive, and digitally sign encrypted emails using Purebred PIV Auth certificates.
