GlobalSign AATL Signatures Description

GlobalSign Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) Signatures is a document signing certificate service that enables organizations to apply PKI-based digital signatures to documents. The certificates are included in Adobe's Approved Trust List, meaning signatures are automatically trusted by Adobe Acrobat Sign and compatible applications without additional configuration. The service offers three deployment options: - USB Tokens: FIPS-compliant portable tokens suitable for small-to-medium businesses, including remote or travelling employees. The signing credential remains in the sole possession of the signer. - HSMs (Hardware Security Modules): FIPS-compliant hardware-based storage for high-volume signing needs, issued to organization or department-level identities (e.g., Accounting, Finance). - Cloud-Based Signatures: A cloud service that manages all cryptographic components for digital signing. Can be integrated into existing or custom workflows via REST APIs. Digital signatures issued through this service include signer identity validation, non-repudiation, document content integrity checks, and RFC 3161-compliant third-party timestamps. The service supports signing for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook documents, in addition to Adobe PDF. Compliance coverage includes ESIGN, UETA, eIDAS, HIPAA, FDA CFR 21 Part 11, CNCA, and the UN Model Electronic Signature Law. GlobalSign is a member of the Cloud Signature Consortium, Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL), and Microsoft Trusted Root Certificate Program.
