## Executive summary

As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 42 companies that sell quantum security solutions as their main business. Post-Quantum Cryptography is part of that family. The largest groups are based in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. In the last 12 months they raised $651M across 19 funding rounds, 1 company was acquired and 6 new companies started in the last two years.

From that field we chose seven solutions that help you find where your company uses cryptography and move it to algorithms that quantum computers cannot break. SandboxAQ AQtive Guard suits large companies that want a full inventory of keys, certificates and algorithms, then a managed plan to replace the weak ones. QuSecure QuProtect R3 fits teams that want to add quantum-safe protection at the network layer without changing code. Venari suits companies that need to map dependencies and prove compliance during the move.

The main choice is between finding and managing cryptography and building new cryptography into products. AQtive Guard, QuSecure and Venari find and manage it. PQShield, ISARA and QNu Hodos give developers quantum-safe libraries, and Certes protects data in transit.

Ask each vendor which NIST algorithms it supports today, because ML-KEM and ML-DSA are now the standards to plan around.

## How we evaluated

We looked at 22 post-quantum cryptography solutions from 19 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from [Mandos](https://mandos.io/data/companies?utm_source=cybersectools.com&utm_medium=shortlist), our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.

Four traits mattered most: discovery and inventory of where cryptography is used; support for NIST post-quantum algorithms such as ML-KEM and ML-DSA; hybrid modes that keep legacy systems working; and help planning and proving the migration. We left out consumer apps and non-standard ciphers. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

## What is Post-Quantum Cryptography

Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) products help you replace encryption that a future quantum computer could break, such as RSA and elliptic curve keys. Some find every place your company uses cryptography and build a cryptography bill of materials. Others add the new NIST algorithms, such as ML-KEM and ML-DSA, to apps, devices and networks, often in a hybrid mode alongside today's algorithms.

This matters because attackers can copy encrypted data now and decrypt it later, once quantum computers are strong enough. Governments are setting deadlines, and the move takes years, so starting with an inventory and a plan lowers the risk.

## How they fit your cybersecurity program (NIST CSF)

NIST CSF 2.0 has six functions: Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover. The grid shows which functions each pick maps to in our record, so you can see where a solution sits in your program and what it leaves to other controls.

All 7 solutions map to Protect. 3 of 7 map to Identify. 1 of 7 maps to Detect. None map to Govern, Respond or Recover.

| Solution | Govern | Identify | Protect | Detect | Respond | Recover |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| All solutions on this list | 0 of 7 | 3 of 7 | 7 of 7 | 1 of 7 | 0 of 7 | 0 of 7 |
| SandboxAQ AQtive Guard | – | 1 of 3 (Risk Assessment) | 2 of 5 (Data Security, Platform Security) | – | – | – |
| QuSecure QuProtect R3 | – | 1 of 3 (Asset Management) | 1 of 5 (Data Security) | – | – | – |
| Venari Adaptive Cryptographic Intelligence Platform | – | 2 of 3 (Asset Management, Risk Assessment) | 1 of 5 (Data Security) | 1 of 2 (Continuous Monitoring) | – | – |
| PQShield UltraPQ-Suite | – | – | 3 of 5 (Data Security, Platform Security, Technology Infrastructure Resilience) | – | – | – |

| Certes DPRM | – | – | 2 of 5 (Data Security, Technology Infrastructure Resilience) | – | – | – |

Each cell shows how many of the function's NIST CSF 2.0 categories the solution maps to, with the category names.

A product helps you reach these outcomes, but it does not make you compliant on its own. Your people and processes do the rest.

## CISO checklist for selecting a Post-Quantum Cryptography product

Work through these steps in order to go from unknown cryptography to a contract you can defend.

1. **Build an inventory of where you use cryptography.** You cannot replace what you have not found.
2. **Rank systems by how long their data must stay secret.** Long-lived data is most at risk.
3. **Check which NIST algorithms each product supports.** ML-KEM and ML-DSA are the standards.
4. **Ask about hybrid mode for legacy systems.** Old systems must keep working during the move.
5. **Confirm support for your PKI and HSMs.** Keys and certificates live there.
6. **Test performance on real traffic.** Post-quantum keys and signatures are larger.
7. **Ask how progress is reported to auditors.** Regulators will ask for proof.
8. **Plan for products you buy from other vendors.** Your suppliers must move too.
9. **Price the full migration over several years.** The move takes time and changes scope.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### When do we need to move to post-quantum cryptography?

Start planning now. Data stolen today can be decrypted later, and a full move takes years. Many governments have set deadlines in the early 2030s.

### What are ML-KEM and ML-DSA?

They are NIST's standard post-quantum algorithms. ML-KEM protects key exchange, and ML-DSA creates digital signatures.

### What is a cryptography bill of materials?

A CBOM lists the algorithms, keys and certificates your systems use and where. It is the starting point for planning the move.

### What is hybrid mode?

Hybrid mode uses a classical algorithm and a post-quantum one together, so a connection stays safe even if one of them turns out weak.

### Do we need new hardware?

Usually not for software and network changes. Some devices need firmware updates or new hardware, especially older embedded systems.
