## Executive summary

As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 167 companies that sell cyber-physical security solutions as their main business. The largest groups are based in the United States, Israel and Germany. In the last 12 months they raised $1.1B across 26 funding rounds, 7 companies were acquired and 15 new companies started in the last two years.

From that field we chose seven solutions that show what is on your industrial networks, find weak spots and spot attacks without stopping production. Claroty Platform suits plants and hospitals that want asset inventory, exposure management, segmentation, threat detection and secure remote access in one platform. Nozomi Networks Platform fits companies with many sites, because sensors and a cloud console show factory and utility networks in one view. Dragos Platform suits teams that want deep knowledge of industrial protocols and clear advice on which flaws to fix first.

The main choice is between an OT specialist and an OT add-on to a platform you already run. Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos and TXOne focus on industrial networks. Armis, Darktrace and CrowdStrike add OT coverage to wider security platforms.

Ask each vendor how it finds devices without disturbing controllers, because active scans can upset fragile equipment.

## How we evaluated

We looked at 287 cyber-physical security solutions from 183 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from [Mandos](https://mandos.io/data/companies?utm_source=cybersectools.com&utm_medium=shortlist), our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.

Four traits mattered most: passive discovery of industrial assets; threat detection that understands industrial protocols; vulnerability and exposure management for devices you cannot patch; and fit with your firewalls, SIEM and IT products. We left out firmware, automotive, maritime and medical-device-only products. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

## What is Cyber-Physical Security

Operational technology (OT) security products protect the systems that run plants, utilities, hospitals and buildings, such as PLCs, SCADA servers and engineering workstations. Most watch industrial network traffic passively to build an asset inventory, find vulnerabilities and spot unusual commands. Some also segment networks, control remote access by vendors and protect endpoints that cannot be patched.

This matters because an attack on OT can stop production, damage equipment or put people at risk. Many industrial devices are old, cannot run normal security agents and must not be disturbed. OT security gives you visibility and protection that fits those limits, so you can find problems before they stop a line.

#### What customers say

Nozomi's main draw is that it shows OT networks teams could not see before, from legacy shop-floor devices to whole remote sites, and it keeps adding new assets and alerts on its own as traffic flows. Owners find the sensors and cloud console easy to move around in, and they say the support team stays engaged and answers clearly. That said, the rollout leans on your own network, because it has to be well structured before the sensors can see all the traffic.

#### Before you buy

Where it is strong:

- Passive discovery that finds devices fast
- Risk scores from asset to whole company
- Easy sensors and cloud console

Ask in the demo:

- Plan staff time for the rollout
- Ask about documentation for your use cases

## CISO checklist for selecting a Cyber-Physical Security product

Work through these steps in order to go from unknown industrial networks to a contract you can defend.

1. **List your sites and the main control systems at each.** Coverage and sensor count depend on it.
2. **Agree with operations on what may touch the network.** Safety and uptime come first in OT.
3. **Start with passive discovery at one site.** It shows real assets without risk.
4. **Check support for your controllers and protocols.** Coverage differs by vendor and industry.
5. **Ask how vulnerabilities are prioritized for devices you cannot patch.** You need a short list, not a long one.
6. **Plan secure remote access for vendors.** Shared remote access is a common way in.
7. **Confirm how alerts reach your SOC or SIEM.** Someone must act on what the product finds.
8. **Decide who will tune alerts over time.** Noise is a common complaint.
9. **Price sensors, licenses and support for five years.** Hardware and modules add up across sites.

Start with how much OT you run and who will operate the product. If you want one platform for plants or hospitals, Claroty covers inventory, exposure, segmentation and remote access. Nozomi Networks suits companies with many sites, and Dragos suits teams that want deep protocol knowledge.

TXOne helps plants protect old, unpatched machines. Armis, Darktrace and CrowdStrike add OT coverage to wider platforms you may already use.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is the difference between IT and OT security?

IT security protects data and office systems. OT security protects machines and the systems that control them, where safety and uptime come first and devices often cannot be patched.

### Is passive monitoring safe for industrial networks?

Passive monitoring only listens to traffic, so it does not touch devices. Active queries can give more detail but should be tested, because some old controllers react badly.

### Do I need a separate OT product if I have an IT security platform?

It depends on how much OT you run. OT specialists understand many more industrial protocols. OT modules of wider platforms can be enough for lighter needs.

### How do I protect devices that cannot be patched?

Segment them, watch their traffic and control who can reach them. Some products here also shield old machines on the network or harden their endpoints.

### How should vendors and contractors connect to OT?

Use secure remote access with approval, recording and time limits instead of shared VPNs. Several products here include it.
