## Executive summary

As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 213 companies that sell AI security solutions as their main business. AI SPM is part of that family. The largest groups are based in the United States, Israel and the United Kingdom. In the last 12 months they raised $1.7B across 79 funding rounds, 18 companies were acquired and 96 new companies started in the last two years.

From that field we chose seven solutions that find the AI models, agents and apps across your company and flag the risky settings and data around them. Palo Alto Networks Prisma AIRS leads for teams that want posture checks, model scanning, red teaming and runtime protection in one platform. Zscaler AI-SPM fits teams that run AI on cloud platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure and Vertex AI and already use Zscaler. Cyera Agent Guardian suits teams whose main worry is sensitive data reaching AI systems.

The decision in this category is what you inventory first. If most of your AI runs in cloud platforms you manage, start with a product that reads those clouds. If the risk is staff and agents using AI in SaaS apps and on laptops, start with a product that sees that traffic. Few products cover both equally well today.

## How we evaluated

We looked at 58 AI SPM solutions from 45 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from [Mandos](https://mandos.io/data/companies?utm_source=cybersectools.com&utm_medium=shortlist), our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.

Four traits mattered most: finding AI models, agents and apps across cloud, SaaS and endpoints, flagging risky permissions and data exposure, ranking risks by impact, and guiding the fix. We left out governance paperwork products with no discovery and products that cover a single vendor's AI only. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

## What is AI SPM

AI security posture management, or AI-SPM, finds the AI in your company and checks how safely it is set up. It lists the models, agents, AI apps and data sources in use, approved or not, and flags excessive permissions, exposed data and risky settings.

For you, it is the inventory that every other AI control depends on. You cannot block, test or govern AI you have not found. It sits next to your cloud security and data security programs, and your AI governance and compliance work depends on its findings.

#### Our take

Sysdig AI Workload Security protects AI workloads in your cloud. It lists AI packages and engines in use, including shadow AI, and watches them at runtime for suspicious activity such as unauthorized access, shell access, remote file copying and model manipulation. It combines that with static risks such as public exposure, misconfigurations and vulnerabilities to rank what matters, and attack path analysis shows how an exposed AI workload connects to other resources.

It earns a spot because it joins posture with runtime evidence, so you rank AI risks by what is really happening in your workloads. It fits cloud and platform teams that run AI in containers and Kubernetes and already use Sysdig. Its view starts at the workload, so weigh how much you also need on AI apps used by staff and on SaaS agents.

## CISO checklist for selecting an AI SPM product

Work through these steps in order to go from not knowing your AI footprint to a contract you can defend.

1. **List where AI runs today: cloud accounts, SaaS apps and endpoints.** Each product looks in different places, so this decides which ones can see your AI.
2. **Decide which data must never reach AI models or agents.** Posture findings only matter if you know which data exposure is unacceptable.
3. **Run a discovery trial against your real environment.** The size of the inventory a product finds is the clearest sign of how well it sees.
4. **Check how findings are ranked and how fixes are guided.** A long list of findings without priorities will not get fixed.
5. **Confirm which agent and model platforms are covered.** Coverage is uneven in this young market, and uncovered platforms stay blind spots.
6. **Ask whether runtime protection is included or separate.** Posture alone does not stop attacks on live AI apps.
7. **Check how findings reach your ticketing and security tooling.** Findings that stay in a separate console rarely get fixed.
8. **Map the product's reports to your AI governance needs.** Audit and regulatory evidence is a common reason to buy, so check it matches your frameworks.
9. **Ask for references for the AI product itself.** Many vendors are new to AI, and reviews of their older products do not show how this works.
10. **Agree how the contract changes if the vendor is bought.** Several AI security vendors were bought recently, which can change pricing and support.

## Conclusion

Choose by where your AI lives. If most AI runs in your cloud accounts, Zscaler AI-SPM or Sysdig read those workloads well. If you want posture, testing and runtime in one, Prisma AIRS covers the most ground. If agents built in SaaS and low-code platforms are the worry, Zenity or Noma fit. If data exposure is the core risk, Cyera Agent Guardian fits, and Aurascape covers staff use of AI apps. Whatever you choose, start with the inventory, and ask for references for the AI product itself.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is AI-SPM?

AI security posture management finds the AI models, agents, apps and data in your company and checks how safely they are set up. It flags risky permissions, exposed data and misconfigurations, much like cloud security posture management does for cloud accounts.

### How is AI-SPM different from cloud security posture management?

Cloud posture management checks cloud accounts and services in general. AI-SPM focuses on AI: models, training data, agents and the data they reach. Some cloud security vendors now add AI-SPM to their platforms.

### Does AI-SPM find shadow AI?

Most products here discover AI that nobody approved, but they look in different places. Some read cloud accounts, some watch network traffic and some read SaaS platforms. Check that a product looks where your shadow AI is likely to be.

### Do I still need runtime protection?

Yes, for AI apps that face users or data. Posture management finds and fixes risky settings before an attack. Runtime protection blocks attacks such as prompt injection while the app is live. Several products here offer both.

### Can AI-SPM help with the EU AI Act?

It helps with the inventory and evidence side. Several products map findings to frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act and keep audit trails. They do not replace legal review of how you use AI.

### Why are there no customer reviews here?

These AI products launched recently, and we found too few first-hand reviews of them. Reviews of each vendor's older products do not describe the AI features. Ask vendors for references for the AI product itself.
